100% Cotton Waste

Product Overview

These are the left over warp threads from industrial looms after a weave run has finished.  They are either bleached or natural cotton. While cotton waste is used for the stuffing for making French polish rubbers (applicators), it is also invaluable as applicator material for wax on Venetian plasters. The advantage of cotton waste is that it puts on a minimal layer of wax to help avoid swirl marks when the wax is polished.  Unlike cotton rags or cheese cloth, cotton waste  will not get clogged up with wax. Cotton waste can be continually  pulled apart to keep the wax application even and as light as possible. Cotton waste is also very useful for evenly applying wood stains and cutting down the problem of lap marks.
