JAX water-based Patinas react differently depending on the composition of the metal alloys and the preparation of the metal surface to be treated. They are safe, easy to use and require no heat or electricity. Different effects can be achieved by brushing, sponging, or spraying the patina and usually the chemical process will continue somewhat after the patina solution has been rinsed off. They may be diluted with more water to help further control the process.
This is a set of 7 different metal colorants, useful for toning the usual range of metals used in decorative hardware, findings, brasses, aluminum ware and other small metal fittings. The kit contains the selected amount of each colorant, 2 oz, 16 oz, or 128 oz.
Colorants included in each kit:
JAX Brown
Produces an antique brown finish on brass, bronze, copper.
JAX Brown-Black
Produces an antique brown-black finish on brass, bronze, copper.
JAX Black
Produces an antique black finish on brass, bronze, copper.
JAX Flemish Gray-Black
Produces an antique Flemish gray-black finish on brass, bronze, copper.
JAX Pewter Black
Produces a dark, black antique finish on pewter, lead, brass, bronze, copper, nickel, tin-lead alloys and solders.
JAX Iron, Steel and Nickel Blackener
Produces an antique metallic black finish on iron, steel and nickel.
JAX Green Patina
Produces a verdigris finish on copper, brass, and bronze
