Sepp Leaf Oil-Based 3-Hour Leaf Adhesive is a specially designed size for gilding with genuine and imitation gold leaf, silver leaf and copper leaf.
The surface should be smooth and primed with a coat of gilding primer. Sand primer with 600 grit paper to level brush strokes and to scuff the surface. Mix well before using. Apply at package consistency with a soft natural hair brush. If thinning is necessary, use mineral spirits. The layer of adhesive needs to be smooth, even and as thin as possible. Avoid puddling in crevices. It is ready for gilding after 1 to 3 hours and remains open for gilding for 1 to 3 hours, depending on temperature and humidity.
Clean brushes with mineral spirits.
